The Pickleball Club

Project Summary

The Pickleball Club is one of our first solo ventures into the sports complex setting. While we had experience and expertise in the field, we hadn't done a complete project since we started this company and it was a pleasure that this was our first noticeable sports complex of Bais.

The requirement was a simple one. The clients wanted two playable courts with a seating area that's covered. The idea was to run a pickleball club as Chennai city was booming with pickleball courts all across. We segregated the courts and the passage with a mesh net in between to prevent from the play being disrupted. The facade design indicates two people playing pickleball and we just placed greenery at its base to give an aesthetically pleasant appearance.

The entrance into the arena is from the NW side of the property. We restricted the crowd by giving just one entrance and to ensure safety, the reception area is the only way to go through to the court. The passageway is designed in such a way that there is enough seating for two groups of crowds occupying the court at the same time while the game is still going on. There are further seating arrangements given at the far end of the passageway and also at the roof.

The initial idea was for the roof to act as an outdoor gathering area which was later just left as an open gallery space during the execution. All in all, this is a project that turned out pretty much as it was initially intended to be designed with minimal changes during the execution. We had to place artificial turf all across the courts on one side to prevent players from banging into the wall and it ended up as another highlighting feature of the court.

We hope to begin the next outlets of The Pickleball Club in the near future and hope to go beyond our expectations with the next one.
